Flaunt Weeekly The Recording Academy has revealed the nominees for the 67th Grammy Awards, with Nigerian artists dominating the Best African Music Performance category.

American musician Chris Brown is the only non-Nigerian nominee in the category, thanks to his collaboration with Nigerian stars Davido and Lojay on the track “Sensational.”

The nominations, announced on Friday, November 8, include Yemi Alade’s “Tomorrow,” Asake featuring Wizkid’s “MMS,” Chris Brown’s “Sensational” with Davido and Lojay, Burna Boy’s “Higher,” and “Love Me JeJe” by Tems.

This year’s nominees follow last year’s win in the same category by South African singer Tyla for her song “Water” at the 66th Grammys.

In addition, Nigerian stars Rema and Tems earned nominations in the Best Global Music Album category.

Tems’ debut album, “Born In The Wild,” and Rema’s sophomore release, “HEIS,” will compete against Matt B and Royal Philharmonic Orchestra’s “Alkebulan II,” Ciro Hurtado’s ‘Paisajes,” and Antonio Rey’s “Historias De Un Flamenco.”

Tems also received a nod for Best R&B Song for her track “Burning,” joining an all-female lineup in the category.

She will face competition from Kehlani’s “After Hours,” Coco Jones’ “Here We Go (Uh Oh),” Muni Long’s “Ruined Me,” and “Saturn” by SZA.

KanyiDaily recalls that South African singer, Tyla won the inaugural Best African Music Performance category at the 66th Grammy Awards.
