For connecting XMC modules to a VPX computer system, the VPX4850 carrier cards offer an easy and affordable alternative. Through fast interconnects on the carrier card, they give host CPUs reduced latency access to the XMC modules.

The XMC sites employ a 16-lane PCIe Gen 3 interface, which allows for high data speed. These websites enable front or back panel I/O. Direct PCIe connections to the VPX backplane via the data or extension plane are available in two forms.

Developers can access hundreds of tasks that are currently inaccessible in a VPX platform by integrating XMC modules that provide advanced signal processing, networking, GPU/FPGA computing, and other capabilities. The prXMC processor module is also supported by the carrier cards.

These carriers are perfect for high-performance industrial, aerospace, and defence systems that need high-speed I/O expansion. There are conduction-cooled and air-cooled versions of the VPX4850.

Operating systems like Microsoft Windows®, Linux®, and VxWorksTM can all be used more easily thanks to software support packages.

Acromag has more than 60 years of expertise dealing with applications in the fields of industrial, scientific, and military defence.
