Samsung-enthusiast-rids-his-Galaxy-Z-Fold-4-of-crease-but-dont-try-it-at-home

A Samsung enthusiast removes a wrinkle from his Galaxy Z Fold 4, but don’t try it at home.

Foldable phones are difficult to create and expensive to purchase. The Galaxy Z Fold 4, a premium flexible phone from Samsung, costs $1,799, but despite the South Korean company’s efforts to portray it as a strong, indestructible phone, the reality is that you still need to handle it with some caution. But you can advance your experience if you’re ready to take a little risk.

One of the greatest foldable phones available is the Fold 4. It has a massive 7.6-inch primary screen that resembles a tablet and a 6.2-inch outside display that is broader than the Fold 3’s for better usability. It has better cameras and is powered by the top-of-the-line Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor.

Overall, it’s a good improvement over the Fold 3, but Samsung hasn’t fixed the crease that runs down the middle of the inner display. Even though it’s less obvious now, The Fold 4 still has a crease, which can be a deal breaker for certain people. A foolish solution has been put out by Samsung insider Ice Universe that seems to resolve this problem.

A protective coating has already been put to the main display, which Samsung advises against removing. In actuality, this was the reason why many OG Fold units broke down. The protective layer is a crucial component of the display’s architecture, and Samsung has explicitly said that removing it risks harming the screen.

Since some Fold 3 customers had reported that the film was coming off on its own, Samsung has employed stronger adhesives this time to hold it in place. Ideally, you should not remove the film. Some of those users added that even without the protector, their phones continued to function normally.

According to Ice Universe, removing the protective film makes the crease appear lighter for some reason, and the comparison photos indeed demonstrate a significant difference.

You might attempt removing the film if the wrinkle bothers you, but only at your own risk because it would be a major risk and not something we advise. It’s intriguing to watch, though, how the protective film enhances the appearance of the crease.
