A third of AI researchers believe it might lead to a worldwide catastrophe.

According to a study of artificial intelligence researchers, 36% think that AIs could lead to a disaster comparable to nuclear war.

 

In this century, more than one-third of all artificial intelligence researchers feel that a catastrophe comparable to a full-scale nuclear war could be brought on by AI judgments.

The research was based on a survey of 327 researchers who had recently co-authored articles on artificial intelligence (AI) research in natural language processing. With the rising use of huge language AI models that exhibit excellent results, there have been significant advancements in this area in recent years.
