According to her death certificate, Queen Elizabeth II died of old age.

Her death certificate indicated that Queen Elizabeth II had passed away from old age.

The late British monarch passed away at Balmoral Castle in Ballater, Scotland, on September 8 at 3:10 p.m. UK time (10:10 a.m. ET), according to a document released by National Records of Scotland on Thursday.

Old age is given as the cause of death. Princess Anne, daughter of the Queen, has signed the paper.

At age 96, Britain’s king with the longest reign passed away quietly.

A period of national mourning was initiated by her passing. On September 10, King Charles III was solemnly installed as the next monarch of the United Kingdom after his mother passed away.

“Unequaled in its duration, its dedication, and its devotion,” Charles praised his mother’s historic seven-decade rule.

He remarked during the historic event at St. James’s Palace, “Even as we sorrow, we give thanks for this most loyal life.

Global leaders recognised the contribution the Queen had given to the world over her 70-year reign, and on September 19, the world said goodbye to the monarch with a state funeral drenched in spectacle.

Tens of thousands of people flocked to the nearby streets and along the 25-mile procession route from central London to Windsor in an effort to see the sovereign’s flag-draped coffin as it travelled by hearse to her final resting place. The royal family, dignitaries, presidents, and prime ministers gathered at Westminster Abbey for a solemn service.

Later that evening, in the King George VI Memorial Chapel, she and her husband of 73 years, the Duke of Edinburgh, were laid to rest. The Queen’s father, the Queen Mother, and her sister Princess Margaret’s bones are also kept in this annex of St. George’s Chapel.

Last week, a picture of the monarch’s ultimate resting place was made public by Buckingham Palace. It revealed an engraved ledger stone made of hand-carved Belgian black marble that included the names of the sovereign’s parents and her husband in brass letter inlays.
