Adele has one of the world’s most famous names, but that doesn’t mean we all know how to pronounce it!
In a recent Q&A with fans in Los Angeles to promote the release of her “I Drink Wine” music video, the Grammy Award-winning artist, 34, cleared the air about her stage name.
“Love that,” Adele said after a fan in London asked her a question about songwriting via satellite.
“She pronounced my name perfectly!”
According to the star, the correct pronunciation is “uh-dale,” not “ah-dell,” and he then moved on to answer the woman’s question.
In the same Q&A, the songwriter addressed whether she is interested in completing the elusive EGOT, having already won an Emmy, an Oscar, and multiple Grammys.
“I can’t lie, guys, I’m not a huge Broadway fan,” she admitted.
“I understand.
But I’m talking about musicals because I’ve seen a few plays but don’t think I’ve seen enough.”
The one musical role she believes she might be able to pull off?
In Gypsy, I played Rose.
Adele saw a performance of the Arthur Laurents musical, and the song “Rose’s Turn” stood out to her.
“I really liked the mother’s role in it.
She has a song where she says, ‘I wanted to do all of this,’ and she’s envious of her own daughter and is very caught up in it “She stated.
“She was just a bitch in it at one point, which I could nail.”
Adele will begin her “Weekends with Adele” residency at Caesars Palace Colosseum later this month and will run until March 2023.
While she is only now getting the show back on track after a postponement earlier this year, she has admitted that she has considered transforming it into something that could lead to a future Tony win.

“I don’t think I’ve seen enough [Broadway] shows as an adult to know if I’d want to do it.
‘Do I just move the show from Vegas to Broadway and win the Tony?’ I wondered.
I prefer the sound of an EGO over an EGOT “Adele stated during the event.
“EGO is entertaining.
Never, however, say never.
If I move to New York and get bored, I’ll be back on that stage in a heartbeat.”
