Adriana Chechik of Twitch claims to have been hurt after jumping into a foam pit at TwitchCon: report

The well-known Twitch streamer and pornographic actress Adriana Chechik said she broke her back twice and got surgery for it on Sunday after diving into a foam pit on Saturday while attending TwitchCon at the San Diego Convention Center. Megan Thee Stallion also performed at the occasion on Saturday night.

 

On social media, video of the incident that allegedly occurred on Saturday was shared. In the video, EdyBot, a gaming streamer, and Chechik can be seen engaging in a “Face Off” with foam “swords” on platforms above a foam pit. EdyBot can then be seen falling into the pit. Chechik jumps up and down and performs an air split in celebration of winning the face-off before falling on what seems to be her tailbone in a pit filled with what appear to be foam blocks.

 

Then initially smiles and appears to be in good health, but she then says, “I can’t get up.” “Are you OK?” can be heard coming from off-camera. Chechik shakes her head “no” in response.

 

Chechik announced on Twitter on Sunday, “Well, I injured my back in two places and am getting surgery to put a metre rod in for support today.” “Send in your backing. When it rains, it really pours, and I can certainly feel the rain now.

 

When asked for comment, Chechik and EdyBot did not immediately get back to Rolling Stone.

 

According to Buzzfeed, Lenovo, a computer manufacturer, sponsored the foam pit as a part of its “Legion by Lenovo” stand at TwitchCon. According to a Washington Post reporter, Intel and Lenovo worked together to create the booth.

 

Requests for comments on Lenovo’s TwitchCon booth were forwarded to Lenovo’s PR department by a Twitch representative. When Rolling Stone contacted an Intel representative for comment, no one answered right away.

 

After the incident, the booth was shut down. In a statement to Rolling Stone, a Lenovo representative said: “We are aware of the incidences of TwitchCon attendees who were hurt in the gladiator game’s soft foam pit at the Lenovo booth. Since then, the area has been off-limits to all visitors as we cooperate with the event’s organisers to investigate the incidents.

 

Chechik wasn’t the first Twitch streamer to post on social media about getting hurt after a weekend frolic in the foam pit at TwitchCom.

 

TwitchCon is an annual convention that features two events, one in North America and the other in Europe. It brings together broadcasters and fans. Due to Covid, the live event was postponed in 2020 and broadcast instead. TwitchCon Amsterdam took place in July, and TwitchCon San Diego will take place this weekend, marking its comeback after a two-year absence.
