After a CoolSculpting mishap, Linda Evangelista had her face taped back for the “Vogue” cover.

“Am I mentally cured? No, definitely not,” Linda Evangelista said in reference to her CoolSculpting procedure. But I’m incredibly appreciative of the help I received from my peers and my profession.

 

The flawless-looking former supermodel Linda Evangelista is featured on the cover of British Vogue for September, but she admitted in a recent interview with the publication that makeup artist Pat McGrath had to tape her face back for the stunning photographs.

 

Evangelista claimed, “That’s not my jaw and neck in real life—and I can’t walk around with tape and elastics all over my body.” “I’m working on accepting who I am. The pictures, though… I always believe that we are here to build illusions for photographs. Dreams are being made by us. I believe that is permitted. These photos address all of my insecurities, allowing me to pursue my passion. McGrath utilised tape and elastics, which are hidden by hats and scarves.

 

Evangelista has been frank about her experience with CoolSculpting, a “fat-freezing” process advertised as a non-invasive substitute for liposuction. After undergoing numerous sessions between 2015 and 2016, Evangelista claimed the surgery left her “brutally scarred” and “permanently deformed.”

 

“Those CoolSculpting advertisements were on all the time—on CNN, on MSNBC, over and over, and they would ask, “Do you like what you see in the mirror?”,” Evangelista reportedly said to Vogue. They were addressing me. It had to do with patches of stubborn fat that wouldn’t go away. No downtime, no surgery, it stated. I drank the magic potion since I’m a little self-centered. I tried it, and it didn’t work.

 

Evangelista claimed that she still finds it difficult to look in the mirror. “Am I mentally cured? Not at all,” she said. But I’m incredibly appreciative of the help I received from my peers and my profession.

Evangelista, who had been a hermit for a number of years prior, revealed her experience via Instagram in September 2021 and stated that she was seeking legal action against ZELTIQ Aesthetics and their CoolSculpting technology (the case has since been settled on undisclosed terms).

 

Evangelista stated, “I have paradoxical adipose hyperplasia, [which] has not only devastated my way of life, but it has put me into a cycle of deep melancholy, great sadness, and the lowest depths of self loathing.”

After CoolSculpting, Evangelista’s skin started to expand, bloat, and harden rather than smoothing and decreasing the areas of her body she had hoped to improve, the model revealed to People in February.

If only I had understood that adverse effects may include losing your job and that you might become so miserable that you despise yourself… That danger is one I wouldn’t have taken, Evangelista told Vogue.
