Adidas said on Thursday that Kanye West’s relationship with the sportswear giant is “under review,” and the celebrity is not pleased with the move.
According to TMZ, West criticised the sports retailer in an obscenity-laced Instagram post and claimed they “stole” his designs.
In the since-deleted post to his almost 18 million followers, West yelled, “F—K ADIDAS.”
He said, “I AM ADIDAS.” “ADIDAS RIPPED AND TOOK MY DESIGNS.”
KANYE WEST IS CONSIDERING ENDING HIS PARTNERSHIPS WITH GAP AND ADIDAS
In order to develop West’s Yeezy product line, the German sportswear behemoth, which is the second-largest sportswear producer in the world behind Nike, has maintained a business agreement.
However, the firm made the study public days after West denigrated the Black Lives Matter movement on social media and donned a “White Lives Matter” shirt to a Paris fashion show.
Adidas said in a statement that it has decided to put the collaboration under review “after numerous attempts to quietly settle the matter,” according to Reuters. Throughout this time, “We will continue to co-manage the current product.”
The statement continued, “Adidas has always been about creativity, innovation, and enabling athletes and artists to accomplish their vision. One of the most fruitful partnerships in the history of our industry is the Adidas Yeezy alliance.
“Mutual respect and shared values are the foundation of all successful collaborations,” Adidas continued.
West frequently uses social media to express his thoughts and complaints, some of which have recently been directed towards the CEO of Adidas.
According to Reuters, the two have been working together as a team since 2013.
According to the Wall Street Journal, West previously worked with Nike from 2007 through 2013, the year he notably unveiled his Red Octobers. The celebrity and Adidas first worked together in 2006, but no shoes came out of the collaboration.
WHO BEGAN ADIDAS?
According to West’s current contract with Adidas, the sportswear brand has the exclusive right to create and produce Yeezy items. According to the Journal, West is compensated with royalties amounting to around 15%.
The present agreement is valid through 2026. West threatened to break the deal and launch the Yeezy line independently as recently as last month.

Less than a month after West declared he was ending his collaboration with clothing retailer Gap Inc., Adidas revealed its review.
West frequently updates Instagram with posts that are later deleted. Only three postings were present on his account as of Friday morning, two of which included videos of Fox News personality Tucker Carlson and one each about his parents.
