Apple Watch Series 7

Amazon has reduced the price of the Apple Watch Series 7 to $299.

The Series 8 is expected to be announced by Apple next week.

Amazon has discounted Apple’s Series 7 smartwatch just days before the company’s September 7th event. The 41mm GPS model in “Starlight” is now $299, down from $399. The $100 discount is the best deal on the 41mm model since it was on sale for $280 during Amazon Prime Day earlier this summer. Unfortunately, the majority of other sizes and colours are either sold out or unavailable.

When she reviewed the Apple Watch Series 7 last fall, Engadget deputy reviews editor Cherlynn Low gave it a score of 90. Going into 2021, the Apple Watch was already one of the best fitness trackers money could buy. The Series 7 simply improved on it by adding a larger screen, faster charging, and overnight respiratory tracking.

With Apple widely expected to announce the Series 8 at its event on Wednesday, you’re probably wondering if buying a Series 7 now makes sense. For what it’s worth, most pre-release leaks have indicated that the company hasn’t planned many major upgrades for its next smartwatch. The Series 8 will reportedly include a new body temperature sensor capable of alerting you when you have a fever, but it will not include a faster processor or a noticeably better display. The company also reportedly intends to announce a new “Pro” variant of the Apple Watch, which will cost more than the standard Series 8 models.
