A Portland art festival that is taking place in Oregon touts that one of its events is “free or by donation for Black folks,” but charges $80 for “all others.”

On Sunday, there will be a Time-Based Art Festival event called Black Feast: Black Imagerial, which is described as a “culinary event celebrating Black artists and authors through cuisine.”

A description for the event states that “guests participate in an experience that weaves together food and art” where an event host “works with Black artists to create a multi-course, vegan, gluten-free meal based off of the artist’s work.”

On the event’s website, it is noted that admission is “free or by donation for Black people” and “$80 for all others.”

The initial tweet on the event came from the LibsofTikTok account.

The Portland Institute for Contemporary Art is hosting the occasion.

The Time-Based Art Festival “pushes against this edge of what it means to make—and who can engage in—contemporary art,” according to its website.

“Come hang out, sip, think, and re/connect at our on-site Festival bar in addition to performances, exhibitions, dance parties, our new Night School programme, and our Fall 2022 Creative Exchange Lab. TBA:22 will showcase world and west coast premieres, local partners, international, national, and regional artists, as well as accessible locations and spaces throughout the city. In the twenty-year spirit of TBA, we cordially welcome you to join us this September for a festival unlike any other “It says in the description.

Fox News Digital contacted the Portland Institute for Contemporary Art for comment, but they didn’t get back to them.
