According to rumours, the MacBooks will be available later this year.
While Apple was expected to release MacBook Pros with the M2 chip before the end of 2022, it now appears that the company will wait until early next year. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple will likely release the 14-inch (356 mm) and 16-inch (406 mm) M2 MacBook Pros alongside the macOS Ventura 13.3 update.
“Apple has rarely launched new products in January or February in recent years, so I’d expect the new Macs to be announced by the first half of March,” Gurman said.
He noted that Apple has traditionally released new Macs in March, most recently with the Mac Studio desktop in March 2022.
Gurman also cited Apple’s most recent earnings call, in which CFO Luca Maestri stated that sales revenue will fall in December due to the lack of new MacBook Pros.
When the new MacBooks are released, they will most likely retain the same design as the 2021 original, but will include the cutting-edge M2 Pro and M2 Max chipsets, which will offer improvements in speed, graphics, and other areas.
