Berlin-based B O D I E S will release their debut album on December 6th.
The group are an eight-piece all-female a cappella vocal ensemble, a new experimental name in collective singing. Working with real unity, they’ve become a cult name in Germany, selling out iconic venues such as Hamburg Elbphilharmonieand theBerlin Philharmonic.
The group have now sealed off their debut album, and the eponymous LP will be released this winter.
Out on December 6th, the self-titled record is led by a great new clip, a live session that plays to their strengths.
Australian artist Kat Frankie founded the group, and she comments: “part of what I think makes B O D I E S so strong is that every singer on stage is a talented solo-artist in their own right. They all know how to put on a show and they bring that power with them on stage. I’m not so interested in producing the homogenised sound you might usually expect of a choir: to get the best out of everyone there needs to be some room for individuality, and what I hope we’ve done is build a sense of community around that idea.”
Tune in now.
Catch B O D I E S on tour in the UK this January, including London’s EartH Theatre on January 28th.
