Cynthia Erivo, who will appear alongside Grande in the next movie, made a sarcastic comment on Grande’s post.

Thanks to her fierce new style, Ariana Grande is growing even more “Popular.” The 29-year-old performer revealed her newly blonde hair in an Instagram post on Wednesday (Oct. 26), coloured to resemble the golden locks of the Wicked character Glinda, who Grande is slated to portray in a forthcoming film adaptation of the musical. Both her friends and fans are flipping out about it.

Grande flaunts her brand-new, pale yellow ponytail in her most recent Instagram snapshot while posing with her eyes closed and head turned to the side. She has eyebrows that resemble the Good Witch of the North’s naturally blonde appearance, and they appear to have been tinted to match the colour of her hair.

The “Positions” singer stayed coy in her caption despite making a huge, gravity-defying revelation. She simply wrote, “New earrings.”

People in the comments, however, were fully aware of what she was doing. One supporter retorted, “GLINDA ERA.”

Jordan Barrow, who plays Boq in the Broadway production of Wicked, made the remark while quoting the opening number’s lyrics.

Contrarily, Cynthia Erivo joined in with the pop star’s slyness. The actress, who will play Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West, opposite Grande in Wicked, remarked, “Earrings are AMAZING!! The director of the musical’s movie, Jon M. Chu, agreed, saying, “Earrings look terrific!”

Based on the Stephen Schwartz Broadway musical of the same name, Wicked portrays two magical rivals who become best friends, who are portrayed by Grande and Erivo. The production will be divided into two distinct motion pictures, with the first one set to premiere in theatres in December 2024.
