BLACKPINK wins Best Metaverse Performance at the 2022 VMAs, while Lisa is named Best K-pop Act.

BLACKPINK and member LISA have won numerous awards!

 

The Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, is hosting the 2022 VMAs. BLACKPINK, the Korean pop sensation, is at the event to assert their global dominance. The girl group made history by becoming the first K-pop female act to perform at the VMAs, and they didn’t stop there.

 

The crowd erupted when Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa entered the venue, convinced that the winners had arrived. They started the night off by presenting BLACKPINK with the Best Metaverse Performance Moon Person award. They were awarded with smiles on their faces in front of their fans who cheered them on.

 

BLACKPINK members waited with bated breath for the category that nominated their maknae and everyone’s favourite Lalisa after giving a stage-breaking performance of their pre-release single, ‘Pink Venom.’ Right on cue, it was announced that Lisa had won the night’s Best K-pop award. Lisa has become the first K-pop soloist to win a VMA!

 

Lisa thanked the team for their efforts in making her solo debut and producing an iconic release in her speech. Her fans BLINKs were showered with love from the lady, who referred to them as the “most important ones” and expressed her gratitude for making this possible. Lisa proudly stood with her fellow members’ support and thanked her ‘girls,’ Jisoo, Jennie, and Rosé, for their support as they cheered for her win and sent hearts her way.
