Blizzard is rolling out repairs while Overwatch 2 is unavailable.

On Thursday night, there will be 4 hours of scheduled downtime for the players.

In an effort to improve Overwatch 2, which debuted on Tuesday completely unplayable and has been troublesome since, Blizzard Entertainment announced it is taking the game offline Thursday evening. On Thursday, two distinct windows will experience downtime while bug fixes and database upgrades are implemented on the Overwatch 2 servers.

According to a message on the official forums of the game’s creator, Blizzard, the anticipated downtime schedule for Overwatch 2 is as follows:

Servers will be unavailable between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. PDT as we push out a fix to solve certain difficulties with account merge, login, and the first-time user experience. During this time, players won’t be able to access the servers.

We are making large database improvements between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. PDT to address player queues. During this time, players won’t be able to access the servers.

The Overwatch 2 client may need to be updated by PC users, according to Blizzard, in order to fix “reports of crashes and black screen difficulties.”

As a significant update to the original game, Overwatch 2, it was published on Tuesday. However, on launch day, players were afflicted with long wait times to join games, numerous disconnects, and lost progress. Blizzard reported that a DDoS attack on their servers caused connectivity problems and kicked players out of games in addition to significant server disconnects and player database issues. In an update on Wednesday night, Blizzard expressed regret for the game’s challenges and informed users that it is working to fix a number of bugs and performance problems.
