Britney Spears Gives Elton John Adorable Salt and Pepper Shakers Following the Release of ‘Hold Me Closer’

Britney Spears sent Elton John a sweet gift to express her appreciation for the success of their “Hold Me Closer” duet.

On Friday (Sept. 2), John took to Twitter to share the rocket-shaped salt and pepper shakers that the pop princess had given him. “Thank you so much, @britneyspears, for the wonderful rocket salt and pepper shakers!! “David [Furnish] and I adore them,” the “Rocketman” captioned the image.

Billboard has more.

Rina Sawayama claims she received ABBA’s ‘Blessing’ for the ‘This Hell’ Guitar Riff.

After Tucker Carlson calls Maren Morris a ‘Lunatic,’ she gets a ‘New Profile Pic.’

“I’m really happy for Britney, especially because having her on this record is such a blast, to begin with,” John said in an interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe on September 1. “But this is someone who has been through hell and needed love in her life, a lot of love from a lot of people, and she’s getting it.”

“She did it so well and so effortlessly,” the music legend said of their collaboration. “And I’m sure many people wondered, ‘Well, can she still sing?'” I knew she could sing from the beginning because, if you look at old footage, she was the biggest artist in the world and she could sing, dance, and do everything. So I wasn’t concerned about it. What I was concerned about was whether she would be nervous because she hadn’t done it in a while, but she passed with flying colours.”

“Hold Me Closer,” a new take on John’s 1972 classic “Tiny Dancer” produced by Grammy winner Andrew Watt, features John and Spears singing the opening verse of John’s 1992 hit “The One” over a club-ready beat before diving into the chorus of “Tiny Dancer.”

“Hold Me Closer” is Spears’ first new song since her 2016 studio album Glory, which included deluxe tracks “Mood Ring,” “Swimming in the Stars,” and the Backstreet Boys-assisted “Matches,” all of which were released in 2020. Most notably, the collaboration will mark Spears’ official return to music after a 13-year hiatus.

Spears posted an unfiltered 22-minute voice memo on YouTube over the weekend about her life post-conservatorship and the heartbreaking ways in which legal control over her life has impacted her mental health, self-confidence, and relationship with her family.
