Camilla Parker Bowles had a royal run-in with the actress who plays her on the hit show “The Crown.”

Camilla Parker Bowles, a.k.a. the Duchess of Cornwall, has met her on-screen counterpart in a potentially awkward situation.

At a reception to commemorate International Women’s Day on Tuesday, the 74-year-old “Queen Consort” candidate met Emerald Fennell, who portrayed Parker-Bowles in Seasons 3 and 4 of Netflix’s “The Crown.”

Fortunately, there appeared to be no ill will between them, and they were both pleased with their royal encounter.

At the Clarence House dinner, the 36-year-old Oscar winner quipped, “I was concerned I may be thrown in the Tower — but so far, so good.” “[Camilla] has spent a lot of time in the limelight and has always handled it gracefully.”

During her address, the duchess raved over the director and writer of “Promising Young Woman.”

“It’s really soothing for me to know that if I fall off my perch at any point, my fictitious alter ego is here to take over,” Parker-Bowles said. “So, Emerald, get ready!”

At the party, Fennell told journalist Georgie Prodromou, “It was really great to see her today on International Women’s Day because, you know, she does so much for so many primarily female charities.”

For Seasons 5 and 6, actress Olivia Williams will take up the role of an older Camilla. The last two chapters will focus on the royal family’s decades-long reign in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

Last month, the set of the popular drama on the streaming site experienced some bad luck when around $200,000 worth of prop diamonds, silverware, and antiques were stolen during production.

A duplicate of a rare Fabergé egg that belonged to Queen Elizabeth II’s grandfather, George V, in 1933 was among the items stolen. Among the stolen items were a candelabra, jewels, a grandfather clock, and a birdcage.

Dominic West as the Prince of Wales, Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth II, Jonathan Pryce as Prince Philip, and Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret are among the cast members joining “The Crown” as older versions of the royals. Princess Diana is altering Elizabeth Debicki.

It turns out that some members of the royal family are huge fans of Peter Morgan’s cult television series. According to Hello! magazine, the Earl of Wessex, Prince Edward, and his wife, Sophie, are ardent supporters of the Queen’s youngest son, the Earl of Wessex.

“They drive to Windsor on the weekend to join the Queen for an informal lunch while watching TV or a film,” an insider claimed in 2017. “They had a Netflix subscription, and she was encouraged to watch it with them.” Happily, she enjoyed it, albeit she did find several descriptions of events to be overly dramatic.”
