Every time you lose a pregnancy, being pregnant again is always accompanied with cautious optimism, according to Legend. You never know what might happen, and you have felt the pain of losing a loved one. Your optimism is therefore slightly dampened by that.

In September 2020, the couple posted on Instagram that their third child, Jack, had passed away at the age of just 20 weeks. Teigen informed her fans in the post that a month’s worth of extreme bleeding had forced her into the hospital. Teigen stated that she had to have a life-saving abortion when carrying Jack two years later after learning he wouldn’t live.

Teigen revealed on Instagram in August that she was expecting a second child while also showing off her growing baby bulge.

Teigen captioned the photo, “1 billion shots later (in the leg lately, as u can see!) we have another on the way.” Every time I go in for my appointment, I tell myself, “Ok, if it’s healthy today, I’ll announce,” but then I hear a heartbeat and decide I’m still too anxious.

Teigen may be nervous, but there is promise ahead. Legend claims that “so far, everything’s been amazing.”

On September 9 through Republic Records, Legend released his eighth studio album, Legend, noting that “vulnerability of sorrow, praise, and healing” shaped much of the record.
