Chappell Roan Cancels All Things Go Music Festival Appearance: “Things Have Gotten Overwhelming; I Need A Few Days To Prioritize My Health”

Chappell Roan said she will not be at the All Things Go Music Festival and is prioritizing her health.

“I apologize to people who have been waiting to see me in NYC & DC this weekend at All Things Go, but I am unable to perform. Things have gotten overwhelming over the past few weeks and I am really feeling it,” Roan said in a statement posted on her Instagram Stories.

“I feel pressures to prioritize a lot of things right now and I need a few days to prioritize my health. I want to be present when I perform and give the best shows possible. Thank you for understanding.”

Following Roan’s statement, the festival released a statement of their own in support of the artist.

“We’re heartbroken to announce that Chappell Roan will no longer be performing at this year’s festivals,” read a statement from All Things Go. “While we know how much you were looking forward to the performances, it’s important to remember that health and well-being always comes first.”

“All Things Go strongly supports artists prioritizing their well-being and we ask our community to rally around Chappell Roan with love and understanding. Let’s continue to show the world that music fans support not just the art, but the artists themselves.”

The All Things Go Music Festival occurs over two days in DC and New York City. Roan was scheduled to perform on Saturday, September 28, at the Forest Hills Stadium in NYC and Sunday, September 29, at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland.

Roan’s decision to prioritize her health comes amid backlash over an interview she gave about not endorsing a political candidate for the 2024 presidential election. The “Good Luck, Babe” singer later clarified that she was not voting for Donald Trump and revealed that she would be voting for Kamala Harris without officially endorsing her for president.

Roan has been open about her mental healthand, in the same interview withThe Guardian,said she was in therapy after being diagnosed with severe depression.

“I went to a psychiatrist last week because I was like, I don’t know what’s going on. She diagnosed me with severe depression – which I didn’t think I had because I’m not actually sad. But I have every symptom of someone who’s severely depressed,” Roan said.
