Christian Bale, who starred in Thor: Love and Thunder, didn’t seem to mind all the green screen.
The Marvel actor, who played the antagonist Gorr the God Butcher in the most recent Thor sequel, detailed why producing a Marvel movie is so repetitive in an interview with GQ Magazine.
That was the first time he had ever done it. “I mean, monotony is the definition of it. You have decent individuals. Other actors that you have have a lot more expertise with it than I have. Are you able to distinguish one day from the next? No. Without a doubt. You don’t know what to do.
Thor: Love and Thunder debuted on July 8, 2022, and tells the story of Marvel’s Thor (Chris Hemsworth) as he attempts to find inner peace while getting to grips with the return of his ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), while also fighting off Bale’s god-killing villain.
He said, “Oh, you must enjoy your character. I’ve never quite grasped that stuff from actors that I respect enormously who say that. “I don’t know if they’ll like him, I say. I’m fine with not liking him.
Taking vengeance against the gods, Gorr is certainly a dogmatic villain who’s difficult to like.
But that wasn’t Bale’s primary issue; rather, it sounds like he had difficulty with the procedure.
He continued, “I couldn’t even tell one level from the next.” They keep claiming that you are in Stage 3. The question is, “Which one is that?” The blue one, I say. They respond, “Yeah.” However, you are in Stage 7. Who or what is that? The blue one, I say. I thought, “Uh, where?”
This isn’t Bale’s first attempt into comic book movies; he is likely most remembered for portraying Batman in the Dark Knight trilogy.
However, there was no chance of trying method acting this time.
He remarked, “That would’ve been a poor attempt to do that.” “As I’m trying to get help getting the fangs in and out and explaining I’ve broken a nail, or I’m tripping over the tunic.”
When tackling such movies, several actors have tried the method technique; in particular, Jared Leto maintained their personas as The Joker and Morbius. But I suppose it was probably a little ridiculous.
