Prince William “will now have even more royal responsibilities as Prince of Wales and direct successor to the throne,” the royal expert said, following the passing of the queen and King Charles III’s accession to the throne.
Added Parker “He’s always kept a small, devoted group of people close to him and Catherine. It’s challenging to imagine how Harry, who lives more than 6,000 miles away and has chosen a very different career path, could be an integral part of that circle and vice versa.”
King Charles announced that Prince William will succeed him when he passes away in his first speech to the nation as king. He also gave his oldest son his former title, the Prince of Wales.
King Charles also seemed to reach out to Prince Harry and Markle in the address, despite the discord among the royal family.

“King Charles made a special effort to express his support for Harry and Meghan as they establish their life abroad. It was a heartfelt way for him to express his support for his son’s new life direction while also expressing his acceptance of it, according to Parker.
“Charles’ kind remarks made it easier for Harry and Meghan to attend the burial,” she concluded. There is no expectation that their very young children will come, but I anticipate that they will be present.
Spence stated that she thought the children of Prince William and Middleton had not yet seen Lilibet, but had met Archie prior to the Sussexes’ relocation to the United States.
