Covid Protocols on Sets Are “Absurd,” According to Woody Harrelson: “As an anarchist, I don’t like mandates.”

Woody Harrelson is encouraging Hollywood to abandon the Covid rules, which he describes as “nonsense” and “absurd.”

In an interview with the New York Times Magazine about his new film Champions, Harrelson stated that he loves shooting small films but was unsure about the mandates on set.

“Now to get an indie done? Especially with all of the Covid procedures, which I find somewhat ludicrous. I don’t know what’s going to happen,” he remarked.

When asked why he believed the protocols were silly, the True Detective alum replied, “The fact that they’re still going on!” Nobody should have the right to require that you undergo the testing, wear the mask, and get vaccinated three years later. I’m simply thinking, “Let’s get this foolishness over with.”

Harrelson stated that he is more worried about the staff that works on film sets since he is able to avoid mandates.

“It’s not fair to the crews,” he went on to say. “I’m not required to wear the mask. What’s the point? Why should they be required to be vaccinated? How’s that not up to the individual? I shouldn’t be discussing this [crap]. It irritates the workers. The anarchist in me believes that we should not have forced testing, masking, or vaccination. That is not a free nation.”

“Actually, I’m talking about the crew,” Harrelson said again. Because I can get out of wearing a mask. I can conduct fewer tests. I’m not in their situation, but it’s incorrect. It’s been three years. Stop.”

“As an anarchist, I don’t do well with mandates,” the actor said.

Harrelson’s words come after a contentious appearance on Saturday Night Live in which he made anti-vax remarks that divided fans.
