Curb Your Enthusiasm has been renewed for a 12th season, bringing the fictional Larry David back to life.

“Playing Larry David has been the greatest honour of my life,” Larry David said in a statement.

Please keep watching Curb Your Enthusiasm, as HBO’s long-running comedy has been renewed for a record-breaking 12th season. The series recently received yet another Emmy nomination, this time for Outstanding Comedy Series, so it’s not surprising that the cable network would want to invest in even more Larry David.

David announced the renewal with a joke that he must have cracked at least once in his two decades of playing a fictionalised version of himself: “It has been the greatest honour of my life to play Larry David.” “In researching this multi-faceted, multi-talented man, I discovered that there’s more to him than I ever imagined: he speaks six languages, brines his own pickles, and spearheads a national movement to install a bidet in every home,” he continued. Several people have also told me that he is the most generous of lovers. I’m really looking forward to resuming my transformation into this natural force. I only hope I can do him justice.”

In a statement, HBO Programming EVP Amy Gravitt said, “Larry outdoes himself season after season and always manages to come back when the audience needs him the most.” “We’re excited for him, Jeff Schaffer, and our incredible cast to keep making us laugh and cringe in equal parts.”

In a recent interview, executive producer Jeff Schaffer admitted that they treat each season as if it were the final one, even filming a version of the finale in which David drowned in a pool. But the chances of the Seinfeld creator returning were high when Schaffer revealed David’s reaction to the alternate ending: “He said, “I’m not ready to die.'” Then play some classic Curb music!
