Curb Your Enthusiasm has been renewed for a 12th season, bringing the fictional Larry David back to life.

The series recently received yet another Emmy nomination, this time for Outstanding Comedy Series, so it’s not surprising that the cable network would want to invest in even more Larry David.

David announced the renewal with a joke that he must have cracked at least once in his two decades of playing a fictionalised version of himself: “It has been the greatest honour of my life to play Larry David.” “In researching this multi-faceted, multi-talented man, I discovered that there’s more to him than I ever imagined: he speaks six languages, brines his own pickles, and spearheads a national movement to install a bidet in every home,” he continued. In a recent interview, executive producer Jeff Schaffer admitted that they treat each season as if it were the final one, even filming a version of the finale in which David drowned in a pool.
