The entire cast for the next live-action film has also been made public by Netflix.
The whole cast for Netflix’s planned live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender adaptation has been revealed, and it features Star Trek icon George Takei. Takei will do the voice of Koh, an old spirit that appears in the Spirit World of Avatar. Koh has the ability to take someone else’s face when they show him emotion in the original cartoon.
Takei really made a one-off guest appearance as a Fire Nation warden in the first animated series. Koh was one of the most remembered animals from the first series, so his role in the new Netflix series is a little more significant.
Amber Midthunder of Prey, who will play Princess Yue, the spiritual head of the Northern Water Tribe, is another notable addition to the ensemble. Danny Pudi, well known for his roles in Mythic Quest and as Abed in the Community television series, will be appearing in the production as the Mechanist, a “bizarre inventor and engineer trying his best to raise his son in a war-torn planet.”
In addition to these three performers, Netflix has unveiled a few more to complete the cast:
A Martinez played Pakku in Cowboy Bebop and Ambulance, and Irene Bedard played Yagoda in Pocahontas and The Stand.Hahn is played by Trickster, Ruby, and the Well’s Joel Oulette.
Chief Arnook is played by Nathaniel Arcand (Heartland, FBI: Most Wanted), Avatar by Meegwun Fairbrother (Burden of Truth, Mohawk Girls), June Utkarsh Ambudkar (Ghosts, World’s Best), Kuruk Arden Cho (Partner Track), and King Bumi by Kuruk Arden Cho.
Momona Tamada (Secret Headquarters, One: Thunder God’s Tale) plays Ty Lee, while Lucian-River Chauhan (Encounter, Heartland) portrays Teo James Sie (Stillwater) as the Cabbage Merchant.
Mai Ruy Iskandar (Yes Day, Benders), Lt. Jee Hiro Kanagawa (Altered Carbon, The Man in the High Castle), Avatar Roku, François Chau (The Expanse, American Gigolo), The Great Sage, Ryan Mah (The Good Doctor, Snowpiercer), Lt. Dang, and the voice of Wan Shi Tong are all portrayed by Thalia Tran (Raya and the Last Dragon, Little).
These new cast members join those who have already been publicly introduced, such as Gordon Cormier as Aang, Kiawentiio as Katara, Ian Ousley as Sokka, Dallas Liu as Zuko, Elizabeth Yu as Azula, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee as Iroh, Daniel Dae Kim as Fire Lord Ozai, Maria Zhang as Suki, Tamlyn Tomita as Yukari, Yvonne Chapman as Avatar Kyoshi, and

When it was first reported in 2018, Bryan Konietzko and Michael DiMartino were scheduled to direct the Netflix adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender. However, due to creative disagreements, the two left the project in June 2020. With Dan Lin, Lindsey Liberatore, and Michael Goi as co-executive producers, Albert Kim is currently the show’s creator.
