Darkoo Accuses Peter of P-square of Taking Down Her Music Video on YouTube

British-Nigerian singer and rapper Oluwafisayo Isa (Darkoo) took to social media to reveal that the music video from her latest song, “Focus on Me (All the Sexy Girls in the Club),” was taken down for six days due to the absurd requests made by Peter Okoye of P-square.

The rapper’s “Focus on Me” was sampled from P-Square’s 2009 hit song “Gimme Dat,” which she claimed had undergone all necessary clearance before release.

However, though Darkoo had gone through all measures to ensure that P-square received about 50% royalties from her new single, she claimed that she had an altercation with Peter Okoye (Mr P), who had demanded to be featured in the song despite all necessary procedures being taken.

Darkoo alleged that the singer claimed he had written his own verse for her song and would like to be on it. He asked that she keep it hidden from his brothers, Paul and Jude Okoye, as they would likely stress her.

However, according to Darkoo, both Jude and Paul Okoye had been civil with her and did not demand more than was required of her when she approached them for the rights to sample “Gimme Dat.”

Darkoo claimed she had promised to feature Peter Okoye in the song’s remix, but he was unsatisfied. Hence, he pulled down her music video from YouTube, claiming she “disrespected him.”

“It’s heartbreaking because I grew up admiring him, and to see someone I once looked up to actively try to hurt me and block my success is incredibly painful,” Darkoo wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

I WASN’T GOING TO SAY ANYTHING, BUT MY MUSIC VIDEO WAS TAKEN DOWN FOR 6 DAYS BY PETER OF P-SQUARE IN AN ATTEMPT TO COMPLETELY SABOTAGE THE SONG. (FORTUNATELY THE VIDEO IS BACK UP NOW.) https://t.co/i2Jo1OVsKz
