Deathloop, Assassin’s Creed, and Watch Dogs 2 join PlayStation Plus.

Sony’s September lineup consists of a mix of big-budget, classic, and indie titles.

Sony just announced its September lineup of games for its subscription service, and it’s jam-packed. Arkane’s stylish immersive sim Deathloop, as well as older crowd-pleasers like Assassin’s Creed Origins and Watch Dogs 2, will be available to PS Plus members. Indie Chicory and Spiritfarer are also worth a look at the other end of the price spectrum.

The subscription service underwent a major overhaul in June, when it combined PS Plus’ on-demand game access with PS Now’s streaming capabilities. According to Kotaku, the new PS Plus showed promise but was still lacking in many areas, such as an underwhelming list of demos and a meagre selection of backward-compatible titles. Still, it was a good starting point for any PlayStation owners interested in exploring Ubisoft or Square Enix’s portfolios. I mean, I haven’t finished everything in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and I doubt you have either.

The games that subscribers will receive this month, however, are highly dependent on which tier they are paying for. Need for Speed Heat, Granblue Fantasy: Versus, and Toem are all available to PS Essential members. However, if you are an Extra or Premium subscriber, the catalogue becomes more exciting. Arkane’s Deathloop, Assassin’s Creed Origins (one of my top three AC games of all time), and Watch Dogs 2 will be available for download beginning September 20. The indie title library is also significantly larger. Chicory: A Colorful Tale is a great place to start if you’re looking for a unique adventure game with some light puzzle mechanics.

This month also sees the welcome return of new classic additions, following a period in which PlayStation appeared to have forgotten that Premium users were paying extra for that. They get Sly Cooper, Syphon Filter 2, and, uh, Toy Story 3 for the PSP, among other things.

Here is the complete list of PS Plus titles:
