Jonathan Majors, Dennis Rodman

Dennis Rodman’s part in the Lionsgate film about the basketball player’s 48 hours in Las Vegas during the 1998 NBA Finals is being portrayed by Jonathan Majors.

The actor who will play the infamous basketball player in Lionsgate’s hotly awaited movie about Dennis Rodman’s 48 hours in Vegas during the 1998 NBA Finals may have been chosen. According to sources, Jonathan Majors is in preliminary discussions to play Rodman, a.k.a. “the Worm,” in 48 Hours in Vegas. Although a deal hasn’t been finalised, insiders said Majors is fully supportive and that talks are moving in the right direction. In a very competitive auction last August, Lionsgate was awarded the rights to the spec, and Phil Lord, Chris Miller, and Aditya Sood will produce the movie. Executive producing will be Rodman, Will Allegra, and Ari Lubet. Jordan VanDina will pen the film’s script.

The amazing tale of NBA player Dennis Rodman embarking on a wacky trip with his wary assistant general manager during the 1998 NBA Finals served as the basis for the plot. The movie will depict a developing friendship that neither of them ever imagined was possible but that ultimately resolves all of their issues.

Everyone had heard about this bizarre incident when it first occurred in the 1990s, but it has recently gained new attention as a result of the popularity of the Michael Jordan-Chicago Bulls documentary The Last Dance, which had a successful premiere last May. Everyone from Jordan to coach Phil Jackson to supermodel Carmen Electra spoke about what happened as Rodman took the trip as the Bulls were attempting to finish their second three-peat championship run in the documentary.

The script was written by VanDina during the epidemic, and when it was out on the market, Lionsgate fell head over heels for the concept and the eccentric cast of characters, making a strong bid to acquire the rights.

This Thanksgiving, Majors will be regarded as a U.S. Jesse Brown, a Navy fighter pilot, appears in the Devotion war film by Black Label Media. After making its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival this year, Majors and the movie are already getting raving reviews.

He will debut as Kang The Conqueror in Peyton Reed’s Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania early in the next year (He first debut the character in the season finale of Loki). The movie will debut on February 17, 2023, in theatres. Majors will also appear as Adonis Creed’s ring adversary in Creed III the following month. The awaited debut is scheduled for March 3, 2023.

The most recent project Majors completed was Magazine Dreams, in which he also serves as executive producer and stars through his Tall Street Productions. In this investigation of fame and violence, Majors will play a Black amateur bodybuilder who fails to connect with others. The Man In My Basement, the movie version of the Walter Mosley book, will begin filming later this year under the direction of Majors. Charles Blakely will be portrayed by the actor, who will also executive produce under his Tall Street Productions. The picture will be financed by Protagonist Pictures.

WME, Entertainment 360, and Jackoway Austen are Majors’ agents.
