Elon Musk Criticizes “The Rings of Power” for “Almost Every Male Character Being a Coward” or “Jerk,” Reigniting Jeff Bezos Feud”

Jeff Bezos, the founder and executive chairman of Amazon, and Elon Musk have rekindled their bitter feud over the company’s popular new series “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.” The first two episodes of “The Rings of Power” debuted on Prime Video on September 2 to positive reviews from critics and 25 million viewers worldwide in the first day they were streamable. Musk does not like the show.

The CEO and founder of Tesla stated on Twitter that “Tolkien is spinning in his grave.” “Almost all of the men I’ve encountered thus far are jerks, cowards, or both. Galadriel alone possesses these qualities.

Some “Lord of the Rings” fans are dissatisfied with the show for making Galadriel, who was portrayed by Cate Blanchett as a tranquil and regal elf in Peter Jackson’s film trilogy, into a full-fledged action hero. Morfydd Clark portrays Galadriel in the Amazon series. Clark had already defended her character interpretation.

Clark told Variety, “I would argue that her serenity is hard earned. You can’t, in my opinion, attain that level of insight without going through difficulties. She actually discusses the loss of innocence that comes with wisdom, which I found to be a pretty positive aspect of the tale. Considering that you are still thousands of years old, how young are you? Thus, it was contemplating the purity she may have lost at this period.

The elves had undergone some evolution by the Third Age, said Clark. The elves of the First Age are quite disorderly and frequently take each other for granted. They also fight and make fun of one another. They are constantly evolving because they represent Middle Earth’s past. For those of us playing canon characters, learning how these people develop into the people we know and love was very fascinating.

Many Twitter users, including Neil Gaiman, the author of “The Sandman,” reacted negatively to Musk’s statement. Elon Musk doesn’t ask me for guidance on how to fail to purchase Twitter, and I don’t go to him for critique of movies, TV shows, or books, the man responded.

It’s not surprising that Musk was so critical of Amazon’s “The Rings of Power” given their long-standing commercial rivalry. Currently, their competition includes their rival spaceflight companies, Musk’s SpaceX and Bezos’ Blue Origin.
