Flaunt Weeekly MUSIC: Thai alt-pop band Tilly Birds releases new English single ‘Retro-39’
Thai alt-pop trio Tilly Birds released its latest English single, “Retro-39,” on October 1, to bring its music closer to more international audiences. According to the band’s guitarist Billy, the upbeat anthem is Tilly Birds’ “brightest song” to date.
“We want this to become the first door that you can open to enjoy Tilly Birds. It’s a timeless jam of pop music and it makes us very proud to share it with you guys,” drummer Milo said.
The Thai trio also released a music video to accompany the track, and it was created with the members’ love for all things retro in mind.
“My love for romantic comedies is immeasurable. It forms my childhood and my filmography. I thought these movies, they’re old enough for us to go back to now. When we finished the music video, I was blown away. It’s exactly as we thought before we decided to make it. We made this with love for the retro era. It’s maybe something our generation would want the next generation to look back to,” Tilly Birds’ vocalist, Third, shared.
