Fans Created GoFundMe Pages To Get Kanye West Back To Billionaire Status — Here’s The Result

Kanye West reportedly lost his billion-dollar status not long ago, and already some fans are going out of their way to restore West’s net worth.

Billionaire status: As previously reported by AfroTech, the Yeezy founder’s breakup with adidas reduced his net worth to $400 million, according to Forbes.

 

However, it appears that some devoted fans are looking to create a redemption arc for West and are organising their efforts through GoFundMe pages.

 

“Make Kanye West a Billionaire Again”

According to Rolling Stone, one page even stated that their goal was to “Make Kanye West a Billionaire Again.”

 

According to TMZ, these efforts have been a failure.

In fact, none of the pages that surfaced raised more than $25, with the majority earning between $5 and $6 on average.

GoFundMe has since removed these pages for violating their terms of service, as the funds raised are required to be used for the purposes stated on the page. They were also removed because West was not a beneficiary.

Although these user efforts appear dubious, this isn’t the first time people have rallied behind West through crowdfunding.

It’s worth noting that West revealed on Twitter in 2016 that he was $53 million in debt and was hoping for Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg to step in and invest $1 billion in his ideas.

“Mark Zuckerberg invests $1 billion in Kanye West ideas… after realising he is the greatest living artist and the greatest artist of all time,” West wrote in an email to E! Online.

“Get Kanye Out Of Debt”

 

According to Vibe, Jeremy Piatt was looking to save West from financial ruin. As a result, he launched the “Get Kanye Out Of Debt” GoFundMe campaign, which raised $57,398 of the $53 million goal.

As a result, West refused to accept the funds raised.

Piatt was forced to donate the money to the charity organisation Notes for Notes.

“The funds raised by this GoFundMe campaign have been declined by Mr. Kanye West’s camp.” We’re thrilled to announce that they will instead be donated to Notes for Notes, an outstanding charitable organisation. “Instead of funding Mr. West’s artistic vision, 100% of the funds will go to young aspiring musicians hoping to fulfil their dreams,” according to a statement on the page.
