Five brand-new Apple items that might be released in 2023

This fall, Apple might be quiet, but 2023 is going to be incredible.

Although 2022 has been a wonderful year for new Apple goods, Mark Gurman of Bloomberg predicts that it may conclude with a whimper. Apple might choose to just launch the goods without much fanfare other than press releases rather than holding a fall event packed with new Macs and iPads.

Please don’t misunderstand me; the items Apple may unveil this autumn, including the M2 Pro and Max updates for the 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro, M2 and M2 Pro updates for the Mac mini, and M2 updates for the iPad Pro, are all really intriguing in and of themselves. However, the absence of an event and a Mac Pro isn’t the triumphant end to 2022 that we had hoped for.

There is always next year, and according to Gurman, Apple may have a very successful year in 2023. We’ve all heard it before, but 2023 might be one of those years that goes down in history alongside 1984, 1998, and 2007. Here is a list of every brand-new Apple product that might be released in 2023.

headset for mixed reality
Next year, the long-promised augmented reality/virtual reality (AR/VR, often known as “mixed reality”) headset might finally materialise. The name Apple Reality has been mentioned most recently, and there have been many changes in the reports over the years regarding its construction and functionality. (Has it truly been years? According to the most recent speculations, it will have an M2 processor, over a dozen cameras, and 8K displays.

But regardless of what it is called or how it functions, it will be this device that helps 2023 become a watershed year for Apple. This is a new platform, not just a piece of hardware. While it’s true that other businesses had previously produced headsets—some of them are staking their future on it—Apple is renowned for taking early discoveries and bettering their execution.

The most likely date for the reveal is WWDC in June 2023.

Apple Mac
After a two-year chip deployment, a new Apple Mac Pro with silicon-based technology was anticipated this year. But it appears that Apple will delay its introduction until 2023 following a significant clue given during the Mac Studio unveiling back in March. Perhaps there are “supply chain concerns,” perhaps Apple is taking the time to properly evaluate the Mac Pro lineup, or perhaps it simply wants to give it a lot of attention. Whatever the motivations, the introduction of the Apple Watch Ultra serves as a timely reminder that high-end, extreme goods are necessary to showcase the technological advancements Apple is capable of.

We know less about the new Mac Pro than any other device debuting in 2023, but attention will be focused on Apple’s new workstation. Is there going to be an UltraFused M3 Ultra? Will PCIe cards be supported? Is it going to be a sphere or a tower? For many years to come, whatever the new Mac Pro is will be the most recent Mac ever produced.

a MacBook Air 15″
The possibility of a bigger MacBook Air going on sale before the end of 2022 has been the subject of rumours since last year. Now that Mark Gurman has revealed that Apple has moved its release date to 2023, it looks less realistic. While the design of this laptop will be intriguing, it will also be critical to determine what this signifies for the rest of Apple’s laptop lineup. Will the 13-inch MacBook Pro finally become obsolete and be discontinued as a result?

Most likely time of disclosure: spring 2023.

Display-equipped HomePod
How about a product resurrection since 2023 will see the launch of a new product and improvements to key Apple product lines? Although there haven’t been many reports, Apple might bring the HomePod back. It will probably be a complete speaker, just like the first HomePod, but there is a chance that it may also have a display.

There have also been rumours about a HomePod gadget, which is a speaker and iPad combo item that can be used as a smartphone controller, FaceTime station, digital access kiosk, and more. This device is allegedly similar to the Amazon Echo Show. Despite Gurman’s earlier claims that this device won’t be unveiled until 2024, it sounds like the ideal gift for the 2023 Christmas season.

Best prediction for the reveal date: Cross your fingers for a late 2023 One More Thing.

Apple iPad Pro, 14″
Since the arrival of the 12.9-inch iPad Pro in 2015, Apple has not introduced a new size of the iPad Pro. That is, until 2023, when Mark Gurman claims Apple will launch a 14-inch iPad Pro in line with its current “larger is better” product ethos. Rumor has it that those who are “accustomed to a 16-inch MacBook Pro” will benefit more from this increased size, so we’re hopeful Apple has some surprises in store for the larger screen.

The best projection for the reveal is spring 2023.

Let’s be honest. Headset? OS X Pro? Pffft! This is the real focus of 2023. This is likely the final season of the show, and it was originally scheduled for 2022, but production delays and drama have caused the show to be pushed back to 2023. Its release will be a fantastic way to finish Apple’s year on a high note.

Most likely time of disclosure: spring 2023.
