Google is giving big discounts on its Pixel 6 line for Amazon Prime Day, which is the most important made-up corporate holiday. The Pixel 6 Pro can be bought with a $200 discount, bringing the price down from $899 to $699. The Pixel 6 can be bought with a $100 discount, bringing the price down from $599 to $499. The deals are now available on the Google Store (or Amazon or Target).
We like both phones a lot, and it seems like Google has finally found a way to make its long-running smartphone line work. The phones are a great buy if you live in a country where Google sells them. They are cheap, have good specs, get updates quickly, and have a unique camera bar design. Both phones were already one of the best deals for a 2022 smartphone in the US, with an MSRP that was $300 less than a similar Samsung model. When they are on sale, it’s hard to say no.
The Pixel 6 Pro has a 6.7-inch 120 Hz OLED display, 12GB of RAM, and a 5000 mAh battery, while the Pixel 6 has a 6.4-inch 90 Hz display, 8GB of RAM, and a 4600 mAh battery. Both phones have Google’s custom Tensor SoC, which was made by Samsung. They also have a new camera system with a 50 MP main sensor, Wi-Fi 6E, and Android 12, with major updates, promised for three years.
When the Pixel 6a comes out at the end of the month, it could shake up the US Android market, so Google may be trying to get rid of some stock before then. The Pixel 6a has the same flagship-level SoC as the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, but it costs $449 less. There are some drawbacks, like a smaller 6.1-inch 60 Hz screen, 6GB of RAM, and a 4300 mAh battery, but for the price, this is still a beast of a device. There’s also the Pixel 7 Pro, which is set to come out later this year and is already official.
