Gambo’s “Drip Remix” earns TGMA nomination for international collaboration of the year

Ghanaian musician Bashir Annan, popularly known as Gambo, has seen his iconic song “Drip Remix,” receiving a nomination for “International Collaboration of the Year” at the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).

The song, which features US rapper Jim Jones and Ghanaian musician Edem, has been recognized for its powerful blend of cultures and its impact on promoting Ghanaian culture on the international scene.

The “Drip Remix” video, a masterpiece of Afro hip-hop music shot in New York, showcases Jim Jones handsomely dressed in kente like a Ghanaian king.

This historic collaboration marks the first time a Ghanaian musician has influenced a Western artist to adopt the Ghanaian culture rather than trying to dress and copy the dress code of the Western world.
