Gurman says that the M2 Pro and M2 Max MacBook Pro are likely to come out between fall 2022 and spring 2023.

After the M2 MacBook Pro and MacBook Air come out, Apple is likely to release a few more M2 Macs between 2022 and 2023. Mark Gurman of Bloomberg wrote in his Power On newsletter that the company wants to release the new M2 Pro and M2 Max MacBook Pro as soon as this fall.

Gurman says that the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros with M2 processors are already being made. He said that the design and features of the machines are “likely to stay about the same” because Apple just updated this machine with a new look, more ports, a MagSafe charger, a better screen, and a better webcam.

A reporter for Bloomberg said that the new 14-inch and 16-inch models are likely to come with new chips called M2 Pro and M2 Max processors. These chips are updated versions of last year’s M1 Pro and M1 Max chips.

Gurman tells us something important about the M2 Pro and M2 Max MacBook Pros:

Like the standard M2, you can expect a lot of attention to be paid to the graphics.

Benchmarks show that the M2 chip in the MacBook Pro is 11.56 percent faster at single-core performance and 19.45 percent faster at multi-core performance than the M1 chip. The M1 chip also has some features that were only available on the most powerful processors in the M1 family. For example, it can encode and decode 4K video faster and supports faster LP5 memory.

Gurman thinks that the M2 Pro and M2 Max Macs will focus on graphics, which could be great for professionals who need to do more difficult tasks like editing videos, writing code, and so on.

Last but not least, the M2 Pro and M2 Max MacBook Pro could come out between fall 2022 and spring 2023. The Bloomberg reporter said, “Because there are still problems with the supply chain, it’s hard to say exactly when these will be on store shelves.”
