With claims that the Apple Store is throwing up issues when users try to get their hands on the iPhone 14 range, it appears that the preorders for the iPhone 14 have met a roadblock. Additionally, from September to October, wait times for the new Apple phones have decreased.
People are reporting difficulties getting their orders for products like the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro processed through the Apple Store, even after attempting for around 45 minutes. Everything from simple pre-orders to trade-in options reportedly suffers from errors. The online Apple Store occasionally serves up redirects with “Page Not Found” warnings.
Some people have had the unpleasant surprise of receiving multiple orders when supposedly unsuccessful orders really go through. Additionally, delivery estimates for customers who received their purchases in full have been revised from Apple’s stated launch date of September 16 for the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max. (The iPhone 14 Plus won’t be available until at least October 7).
Currently, it appears that almost all models of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are backordered until October. This means that any pre-orders made will result in the shipment of phones to clients well beyond the iPhone 14 range’s official sale date.
Having said that, I recently placed a pre-order for the iPhone 14 in the UK. Although I didn’t fully purchase the phone at the Apple Store, I was given a delivery date of Friday, September 26. Therefore, it appears that orders for the regular iPhone 14 are acceptable in Britain.
The iPhone 14 Pro in Space Black, meanwhile, comes with a delivery date of October 11 to October 18, so things aren’t quite as favourable.
Does this make you want to cancel your preorder? No, our content director Mark Spoonauer was appropriately impressed with Apple’s new top phone in our hands-on assessment of the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
You’ll just have to be willing to wait, which is not a terrible thing as we advise you to hold off on making any significant purchasing decisions until thorough Tom’s Guide evaluations of the iPhone 14 range are available.
