Afrobeat veteran Seun Kuti has shared how Speed Darlington was made popular by embattled US music mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs.
Speed Darlington remains in custody after he was arrested for hinting that Burna Boy had a relationship with Diddy to ensure a Grammy win.
In his reaction to fan comments during an Instagram live session, Seun Kuti distanced himself from the issue between his fellow Nigerian artistes.
Kuti stated that receiving diamond jewellery from Burna Boy doesn’t make him the latter’s adviser.
He added that Diddy made Darlington popular by reposting his ‘Bangdadang’ song.
“Don’t involve me in Burna Boy & Speed Darlington’s case; because I collected a diamond from him doesn’t mean I’m his close adviser. Diddy was even the one who made Speed Darlington popular.
“He reposted ‘Bangdadang’ which made the song popular. I have done a lot of songs, and Diddy never posted any of them, but he reposted Speed Darlington’s song,” Kuti stated.
