How the AirPods Pro 2 Will Perform at Tomorrow’s Apple Event

This Wednesday, Apple is rumoured to be holding a special event at Steve Jobs Theater to unveil the iPhone 14 and the second-generation AirPods Pro. Keep reading for a list of new features and enhancements that have been rumoured so far if you plan to upgrade to the new AirPods Pro when they are launched.

The second-generation AirPods Pro will probably adopt several capabilities that were added to the third-generation ordinary AirPods last year in addition to brand-new ones. The Bluetooth LE Audio protocol may possibly be adopted by the upcoming AirPods Pro, which would have various advantages.

Improvements to the H2 Chip’s Audio Quality
According to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the new AirPods Pro will include a “substantially enhanced” wireless chip in comparison to the H1 chip in the first-generation AirPods Pro. An “H2 chip” moniker could be applied to the new chip.

Kuo didn’t go into detail about the advantages the new chip would bring, but since the H1 chip controls audio-related operations, the upgraded chip in the second-generation AirPods Pro could lead to improvements in sound quality, latency, active noise cancellation, Transparency mode, features powered by Siri, and more.

Apple Lossless audio support could possibly be made possible by the improved processor.

It’s probable that Bluetooth 5.2 or a later version with LE Audio compatibility will be included in the upcoming AirPods Pro. According to the Bluetooth SIG group, the specification includes a new low-power audio codec dubbed LC3 that offers better audio quality than the traditional SBC codec, even at a 50% lower bit rate.

increased battery life
Although there haven’t been any confirmed speculations about the new AirPods Pro having a longer battery life, it’s realistic to anticipate advancements in this area given that the first AirPods Pro was released almost three years ago.

Compared to the current AirPods Pro, Apple’s third-generation standard AirPods, which were released last year, offer up to six hours of listening time per charge. The AirPods Pro have a battery life of up to five hours per charge, which is still less than the third-generation AirPods and even with active noise cancelling and Transparency mode disabled.

If the new AirPods Pro use LE Audio’s low-power LC3 audio codec, as is rumoured, they may have a longer battery life.

New Charging Case
Via the event that the new AirPods Pro charging case is lost or misplaced, customers will be able to follow the case’s location in the Find My app even while the AirPods Pro are not inside of it. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo stated earlier this year that the case will be able to make a sound when it is missing, and it is claimed that renders of the case reveal speaker holes along the bottom.
