How to listen to the Apple Music King Charles Radio in Canada

Canadians who want to feel in tune with the Commonwealth can open Apple Music on March 10 to listen to a selection of songs presented by King Charles.

His Majesty says in a video on Apple’s press site that he wants to share songs that have brought him joy since it felt like an “interesting and innovative way to celebrate this year’s Commonwealth day.”

“Human curation has always been a key pillar of our unique editorial approach,” said Rachel Newman, Apple Music’s global head of Content and Editorial. “Apple Music Radio is where culture is happening worldwide, and we are honoured that King Charles III chose to share his personal playlist with us, and with music fans around the world.”

That being said, the radio show is set to include songs from Bob Marley, Kylie Minogue, Grace Jones, Davido and RAYE, so it will be interesting to see what connections the king has to some of the more contemporary artists.  It is also slated to host talent from other Commonwealth countries, so it will be interesting to see if anyone from Canada makes the list.

Flaunt Weeekly What time will it air and where?

The radio show is going to air Monday at at 1 a.m. EST, which is 6 a.m. in Britain. If you have an Apple Music subscription you can listen to it on-demand at a more reasonable Canadian time. Apple says it plans to replay the broadcast on its Hit’s radio throughout Monday and Tuesday so if you keep the radio on, you can catch it.

To find the radio section, open the Apple Music app, and there should be a section called radio on the sidebar (Mac/iPad) or along the bottom bar (iPhone). The King Charles show airs on Apple Music Radio 1, which should be the main station at the top of your page.
