The notices were issued on 18th November 2022 – five days after a man died on site after being struck by mobile machinery.
Inspectors from the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) issued three prohibition notices relating to specific activities on the site involving vehicles and plant machinery.
They were issued to NNB GenCo HPC and contractors Bouygues Travaux Publics SAS and Laing O’Rourke Construction Limited, the joint venture partners in Bylor JV.
The prohibition notices were issued under the Health & Safety at Work etc Act 1974 and secondary legislation including the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015 and the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998.
The notices were served as a result of inspections on the site on Friday 18th November following the fatality on Sunday 13th November. [See our previous report here.]
The investigation into the fatality remains a live inquiry. ONR is working closely with Avon & Somerset Police who are leading the investigations on the site.
