I wasn’t pressured to study law due to my father’s success in the profession —Falz

Nigerian musician and actor Folarin Falana popularly known as Falz has told those who care to listen that he was not pressured into studying law because of his father’s success in the profession.

Falz who is the son of well-known Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Femi Falana stated that he was moved to study law because of the number of people his father fought for and how he impacted their lives.

The multiple award-winning musician who opened up during an interview with Chude Jideonwo disclosed that while he was younger, he was inundated with reactions everywhere he went to after mentioning his famous surname.

He said: “I won’t say it was pressure but when I was super young, it was like, ‘These people have to be something’ because I was already getting that reaction everywhere I went. And if I ever mentioned my name, people would be like, ‘Which Falana? Is it Femi Falana? Oh wow.’”

“Everyone sort of had a story about how my dad came to their aid at some point in time and how he fought for them and was there for them. At that time it was me taking everything in, like, ‘this is something’. So at that point in time, I wasn’t pressured; I aspired to emulate what he was doing,” Falz added.
