In a leaked video, Olivia Wilde begs Shia LaBeouf to stay on ‘Don’t Worry Darling.’

In a video leaked Friday, Olivia Wilde begged Shia LaBeouf to stay on “Don’t Worry, Darling,” just two days after the director claimed she had fired the film’s former lead.

 

In the 2020 selfie video, an admittedly “sweaty” Wilde, 38, spoke while driving, explaining to LaBeouf, 36, that she had just ridden a horse.

“I wanted to reach out because I don’t think I’m ready to give up on this yet,” she explained. “I, too, am heartbroken, and I want to figure out what’s going on.”

 

The director of “Booksmart” then hinted at a feud between LaBeouf and the film’s lead actress, Florence Pugh.

“I think this might be a wake-up call for Miss Flo, and I’m wondering if you’re open to trying this with me, with us,” she said.

 

“What do you think if she really commits, if she really puts her mind and heart into it at this point, and if you guys can make peace — and I respect your point of view, I respect her point of view — but if you guys can do it?” Wilde went on.

 

The “House” alum then repeatedly asked the actor if there was “hope,” requesting that he “let [her] know” his decision.

 

The footage was leaked after Wilde told Variety that she was fired from the project and replaced by her now-boyfriend, Harry Styles, in order to keep other cast members “safe” from his “combative energy.”

In an email to Variety on Thursday, LaBeouf responded to her allegations and also sent the magazine screenshots of texts Wilde allegedly sent him in August 2020 after he expressed a desire to quit.
