Christine discussed her unsatisfactory relationship with Kody at the “Sister Wives” season premiere.
In the midst of a disagreement, she told her then-husband, “A couple of times a year doesn’t work for a marriage.”
It was “ridiculous,” in Christine’s opinion, that Kody may be drawn to her because of the way he treated his “favourite wife.”
During the season 17 premiere of TLC’s “Sister Wives,” which aired on Sunday, Christine Brown was open with the public about her relationship with her husband Kody Brown.
Kody and Christine spent the most of the programme talking about their divorce, which Christine attributed to Kody telling her he didn’t want a “intimate” marriage with her.
In the middle of the discussion, Kody disagreed with Christine’s assertion that their marriage lacks intimacy and asserted that it does when Christine behaves in a particular way.
He declared, “You and I have intimacy and affection in our relationship. I’m sorry, but it depends on being a member of a multiple family.
Christine replied to her then-husband, “A couple of times a year doesn’t work for a marriage. Kody sighed and remarked that he thought Christine was accusing him.
Christine said, “I was interested in an intimate marriage with you.
She added, “I’m no longer interested in an intimate marriage with you. “I wouldn’t believe that for a second even if you said at this point we could have intimacy again.”
Christine was accused by Kody of being devoted to multiple marriage in response to his retort: “Even if you claimed you liked plural marriage and would be devoted to it, I wouldn’t believe that for a second.”
Together, Christine and Kody have six children: son Paedon, 24, and daughters Aspyn, 27, Mykelti, 26, Gwendlyn, 20, Ysabel, 19, and Truely, 12. Christine and Kody wed in 1994. Christine, who was reared in a polygamous household, had previously stated on “Sister Wives” that she yearned to live in a plural marriage and in particular, to be a third wife.
But she said on the programme that she battled jealousy when Kody wed Robyn, his fourth wife, in 2010. She claimed that Kody had “obvious” favourite children in a 2020 episode of the show, which was hurting his relationships with some of their own daughters.
Because Robyn and her children were according to the stringent COVID-19 restrictions that Kody established so that he may visit each wife’s home, Kody was spending a lot of time with them at their residence when the episode was being recorded.
In Sunday’s episode, Christine expressed her annoyance that Kody judged their closeness on how she treated her sister wives.
She addressed Kody in a private confessional interview, “You are an asshole to assume that my value as a human being is reliant upon how I’m treating other people and you don’t find me attractive.” Christine said, “I think Kody has a favourite wife,” and he thought I wasn’t “treating her well enough.”
So, she said, “I mean honestly, what he’s asking from me is crazy. There’s nothing I can do.”
After more than 25 years of spiritual marriage, Christine and Kody announced their separation over Instagram in November.
Season 17 of “Sister Wives” debuts new episodes every Sunday at 10 p.m. on TLC.
