Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey are the stars of HBO’s The Last Of Us.
The Last Of Us, a PlayStation 3 game from Naughty Dog, received such high praise from critics and consumers that Sony released remastered versions for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, respectively, making sure that The Last Of Us would always be available to play. What about those who don’t own a PlayStation, though? The Last Of Us adaptation on HBO, which was written by Craig Mazin, the Chernobyl author, and Neil Druckmann, the game’s director, has just received a new trailer.
With Game of Thrones breakout Pedro Pascal as Joel (a sad man tragically surviving in the post-apocalypse) and Game of Thrones breakout Bella Ramsey playing Ellie (an… important teenage girl), the clip undoubtedly seems accurate to the game. Avoiding spoilers as much as possible, the fundamental premise of the first game is that Joel has been charged with bringing Ellie across the nation during a current outbreak of a fungal virus that, for want of a better phrase, turns people into zombies. Actually, there is a better phrase for at least one type of zombie, and if you watch the clip with the captions on, you’ll see that “ominous clicking” first appears before a Clicker makes a fleeting appearance in the slimy, mushroom-like flesh.
