It appears that Oscar winner Jordan Peele may not be finished with the world of his critically acclaimed third film, Nope.
Peele hinted at the possibility of more Nope films in an interview with the New York Times published on Monday, after being asked about a character listed on IMDb as “Nobody,” who has piqued the internet’s interest. While Michael Busch is credited for the role, the character does not appear in the film, despite being depicted in the final trailer.
So, what exactly is going on there? “There’s a lot of interesting detective work going on,” Peele explained. “I can tell you that that character’s story has yet to be told. Which is another way of saying, “I’m glad people are paying attention.”
“I do think [fans] will get more answers on some of these things in the future,” Peele continued. We’re not tired of telling these stories.”
Peele’s third film, following Get Out and Us, centres on Otis “OJ” Haywood Jr. (Daniel Kaluuya) and Emerald “Em” Haywood (Keke Palmer), the children of film-set horse trainer and wrangler Otis Haywood Sr. (Keith David), who look to keep his business alive after his untimely death, and find themselves caught in a cat-and-mouse with a U.F
Since its July 22 release by Universal Pictures, Nope has earned nearly $150 million. Peele directed the horror film from his own script, and the cast included Steven Yeun, Barbie Ferreira, Brandon Perea, and Michael Wincott. Peele also co-produced with Ian Cooper under his Monkeypaw Production banner, with the film being made as part of Universal’s exclusive five-year deal.
