Kelly Clarkson Enjoys a Mother-Daughter Date With River at the People’s Choice Awards

Kelly Clarkson had a mother-daughter night out with her 8-year-oldRiver Rose Blackstock, at the People’s Choice Awards on Dec. 6. As the “The Kelly Clarkson Show” host accepted the award for best daytime talk show of 2022, she gave River a sweet shout-out, adding that she was missing her 6-year-old son, Remington Alexander Blackstock.

“I’m having a date night with my daughter,” she said after thanking her fans for voting for the show. “And Remi, I know you are at home, you’re not feeling well, but we love you. This is really cool to get.” In response, River said “I love you” to her mom during Clarkson’s speech. In the midst of Shania Twain’s epic performance medley earlier in the night, the adorable pair were also seen dancing along to the music. Clarkson wore a bright red dress covered in ruffles, while River looked adorable in a sequined rainbow dress and carried a tiny Gucci purse.

The three-time Grammy winner shares River and Remington with her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, whom she married in 2013. River was born in 2014, while Remington arrived in 2016. Clarkson filed for divorce from her husband of nearly seven years in June 2020, citing irreconcilable differences, though the two continue to coparent their children.
