Leaked “Barbie” images horrified Margot Robbie, who had “hundreds of people watching.”

“This is the most embarrassing moment of my life,” I thought.

Margot Robbie, the lead actress and producer of “Barbie,” said she was “mortified” by the widely circulated set images showing her and her co-star Ryan Gosling, who plays Ken, dressed as their characters. Robbie discussed the stolen production photos while promoting David O. Russell’s “Amsterdam” on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.”

By the way, I can’t tell you how embarrassed we were, Robbie remarked. “We appear to be laughing and enjoying ourselves, but we’re actually dying inside. Dying. This is the most embarrassing time of my life, I thought.

Jimmy Fallon, the host, questioned Robbie about her awareness of how the “Barbie” pictures would be analysed online after their release.

“No!” said Robbie. “I mean, I understood that we needed to shoot some exteriors in Los Angeles. I was aware that if you started doing exteriors, you would be photographed. Given that we stand out a little in those outfits, there will definitely be a small group of individuals who stick out. I therefore anticipated some interest and that perhaps some images would circulate, but not to the extent that they did. It was frenzied. There appeared to be hundreds of people present.

Greta Gerwig, who also wrote and directed “Barbie,” follows Robbie’s titular doll out of Barbieland and into the real world. In addition to the leaked paparazzi images, Gosling as Ken was captured on camera yelling after Barbie punched a man who grabbed her behind while she was rollerblading. Jacqueline Durran, an Oscar-winning costume designer, was responsible for the 1990s neon outfits that circulated online.

Following their work on the costumes for “Little Women,” for which Durran received her second Academy Award (her first was for 2012’s “Anna Karenina”), Durran and writer/director Gerwig teamed up once more.

And co-star Ryan Gosling hinted that his Ken character is taking Robbie’s internal “death” extremely literally during the highly publicised production: In short, Ken is having trouble. It turns out that the Barbie Dream World is not all fun and games.

When promoting his Netflix spy thriller, Gosling recently said to Entertainment Tonight, “That Ken life is even harder than the ‘Gray Man’ life, I suppose.” Ken has no money, a job, a car, a house, or any other possessions. He is dealing with some issues.

Just don’t assume you are an expert on “Barbie.” Gosling, who has always been a mystery, added, “It’s not what you think it is, unless it is. “And after that, you already know what it is, but I doubt it is what you believe it to be. What are we talking about, you ask?

The “Barbie” movie was in production from July 2022 to July 2023, when it was scheduled for release.
