Leaker asserts that the Samsung Galaxy S23 lineup will mostly remain unchanged.

Samsung is now more than ever a victim of the general trend among large manufacturers of laziness in design. The Korean tech titan, which was formerly committed to innovation (often to the point of creating gimmicks), hasn’t done much to revolutionise the smartphone market beyond its Z series foldable portfolio.

 

However, the Galaxy S series continues to be the company’s de facto flagship line and the sole high-end alternative for Samsung enthusiasts who are still hesitant to commit to a foldable.

 

However, those who anticipate the Galaxy S23 could be in for a disappointing shock. A well-known leaker with an almost perfect track record on all things Samsung claims that the S23 series will be an average update.

 

In a tweet, @IceUniverse clarifies that with the S23/S23+, “nothing has changed except the chip.” Beyond its internals, the S23 Ultra will experience some more upgrades, specifically to the screen and primary camera. But will that be enough?

 

In the last few of years, cellphones have reportedly become a little bit uninteresting, according to the tech community. The most recent CPUs and more megapixels can only generate so much enthusiasm.

 

There are a few devices that occasionally shake things up for a while, but for both Android and Apple, the great majority of handsets are scarcely groundbreaking. Apple’s most recent iPhone 14 range is unequivocal evidence of this. Although each of the four smartphones is a great gadget, they don’t truly stand out among the sea of identical glass slabs.

 

From a distance, it appears that Samsung has given up on traditional flagship smartphones. The business anticipates that sales of its premium devices will soon be dominated by foldables.

 

Recent data, however, suggest that this may not necessarily be the case. Samsung needs to do more than just swap out a few chips if it is to maintain a respectable market share in the premium smartphone class.
