On May 9th, Little Simz will release her new album, ‘Lotus’, via AWAL Recordings.

‘Lotus’, the generational UK rapper’s sixth collection, charts Simz’ creative evolution. The release comes after a landmark Mercury Prize and BRIT award-winning album ‘Sometimes I Might Be Introvert’, released in 2021, transitional project ‘NO THANK YOU’ and electronic detour ‘Drop 7‘.

With the album reveal comes new single ‘Flood’, featuring longtime collaborator Obongyar and Moonchild Sanelly. The brooding punk-rap track was produced by Miles Clinton Jamesand sees Simz deliver a career-defining sermon both purifying and devastating. Simultaneously snarling and molasses smooth, Simz broadcasts her journey to now on a densely constructed survivor’s anthem.

The Southbank Centre recently announced Little Simz as the curator of the 30th edition of its contemporary music festival,Meltdown. Joining a list of previous curators that includes some of the world’s most famous artists, Simz will curate a boundary-breaking lineup for the 11-day festival, from June 12th-22nd.

A tracklist for ‘Lotus’ will be revealed at a later date. In the meantime, watch the striking visual for ‘Flood’ directed by venerated filmmaker Salomon Ligthelm.
