Logitech recently hinted at the launching of a new iPad Pro in 2022.

Now two upcoming iPad Pro versions are supported by Logitech’s Crayon.

Apple’s intentions for the iPad Pro 2022 may have just been revealed through a product page for an accessory.

The product page for Logitech’s Crayon Pencil(opens in new tab) temporarily listed support for the iPad Pro 12.9-inch (6th gen) and iPad Pro 11-inch. This information was first reported by 9to5Mac(opens in new tab) (4th gen). As we are now using generations five and three of the respective slates, these generations would be the following iterations of each tablet.

Although the product listing has since been taken down from Logitech’s website, this seems to suggest a release is on the way, and soon. Since the Logitech Crayon is a third-party accessory that is fully supported for latest iPadOS devices, Logitech is likely to be informed in advance when new iPad or iPad Pro is released.

We have no reason to believe that the absence of the anticipated iPad 2022 from Logitech’s listing on Crayon’s product page means that a new iPad won’t also be released, most likely in conjunction with these new iPad Pros.

Release rumours for the iPad Pro in 2022

Apple is said to be hosting another event in October despite having just held one in September. Since this has become a regular pattern in previous years, it is likely that Apple will shortly release round two.

Currently, we anticipate seeing both the 12.9-inch and 11-inch versions of the aforementioned iPad Pro 2022 variants. The new Apple M2 chip is rumoured to power these gadgets, which would be a first for the iPad line-up. Along with the two Pro models, a new 10-inch (or somewhat larger) iPad 2022 is anticipated.

The long-in-beta public version of iPadOS 16 will be added to these iPads. Although there are some features that are exclusive to iPads powered by the M1 chip, such as Stage Manager for enhanced multitasking, our initial impressions of the iPad OS 16 beta are generally positive.

Biggest anticipated changes for the iPad Pro in 2022

In addition to the new silicon and the improved OS, there are a few additional developments we are tracking.

First, it appears that the iPad Pro will include a glass panel on the back to support wireless charging. It might even go one step further and enable reverse charging so that your iPad Pro can also power other Apple gadgets.

A 14-inch iPad Pro 2022 was one of the larger sizes for the iPad Pro that has been reported. However, it appears that the larger gadget is not coming, or at least not with the other two sizes, based on leaked Logitech marketing.

Keep an eye on our iPad 2022 rumours page for the most recent information as we will be following these leaks and rumours as they develop.
